Terms of Service — mieven.to

Last updated: October 20, 2026

1. Who we are and acceptance

mieven.to is provided by José Carlos Chaparro Morales, a sole proprietor located in Chihuahua, Chih., Mexico. Support and complaints: [email protected], WhatsApp/phone +52 614 215 2635, Monday to Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (Chihuahua time).

By checking "I agree" and submitting an order you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We email you a copy of these Terms and your order. For customers in Mexico, the Spanish version (Términos y Condiciones) governs.

2. The service

We build and host web invitations for events (weddings, quinceañeras, birthdays, baptisms, etc.) from the information you enter in our form, plus WhatsApp status images.

Prices shown are the total amount you pay, VAT included (Mexican IVA). Your bank may charge international transfer or currency-conversion fees. There are no hidden fees and no automatic recurring charges.

3. Orders, payment and invoices

  1. Fill in the form, choose a package and see the total before confirming.
  2. Pay by bank transfer and upload the receipt. We review your invitation and your payment; approving the payment publishes your invitation (there is no separate preview step).
  3. For Fiesta, a 50% deposit publishes the invitation and the remaining 50% is due no later than 7 days before your event; the invitation stays live meanwhile.
  4. Invoices (Mexican CFDI) are issued manually, on request only: email [email protected] within the same month as the payment with your order reference and tax details.

4. Delivery

  • Review and publication within 2 business days after payment and complete information; express within 24 hours. Timelines pause while we wait for your input.
  • If we miss an express deadline through our fault, we refund the express fee.

5. Revisions

One revision round is a single submission containing all the changes you want at that time. Included rounds depend on your package; each extra change costs $50. Fixing the event date, time or venue, and fixing our mistakes, is always free.

6. How long the invitation stays online

Until 1 month after the event; then it goes offline. There are no renewals or automatic charges. Guest data is deleted 90 days after expiry (see Privacy Policy).

7. Cancellations and refunds

Before we approve your payment (that is, before your invitation is published): if you already paid and cancel your order, we refund 100% of what you paid. Your invitation returns to draft and you can edit and submit it again at any time.

Once the payment is approved, your invitation is published and we do not refund a change of mind. This does not limit your statutory rights, which we handle case by case at [email protected]:

  • Withdrawal (Mexican consumer law, art. 56 LFPC): you may withdraw within 5 business days of purchase, as and when the law provides (it does not apply when the event is 10 business days or less away).
  • Service failure (arts. 92 Bis and 92 Ter LFPC): see below.

Service failure: if, through our fault, the service is not provided, is defective or does not match what we offered (for example, the invitation is unavailable for more than 12 cumulative hours during the 7 days before the event or on the event day), we will fix it at no cost, credit at least 20% of the price, and — if the failure prevented you from using the service — refund it in full. Refunds are sent by bank transfer within 5 business days of the refund request being approved.

Nothing in this section limits refund or cancellation rights that the consumer law of your place of residence gives you and that cannot be waived.

Unpaid balance (Fiesta): the balance is due no later than 7 days before your event; we remind you by email 10, 7 and 3 days before. Your invitation stays online while the balance is pending; the balance remains due and we will contact you to settle it. The deposit is not refunded for this reason, without prejudice to your statutory rights (above).

8. Your content and license

  • You keep all rights to your photos, text and music.
  • You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, limited license to host, reproduce, adapt (resize, crop, compress) and display your content only to provide the service and only while the invitation is online (backup copies are deleted on their normal cycle).
  • We feature an invitation in our portfolio only with your express permission, never with photos of children.

You represent that:

  1. You own or are authorized to use the photos and text you upload, including the likeness of people shown.
  2. If you upload music, you hold the license required to stream it publicly online; otherwise use our royalty-free library. You are responsible for claims arising from content you upload.
  3. If you include a child's name or photos, you are the child's parent or legal guardian or have their permission.
  4. You are authorized to share your guests' information with us and will let them know it is processed by mieven.to.

Guest photos (when your package includes them): a guest who uploads a photo grants the same license so it can be shown in the event gallery and delivered to the host. Hosts and mieven.to may hide or delete photos.

Our IP: designs, templates, code and the mieven.to brand belong to us. You may use and share your invitation and status image for your personal, non-commercial event.

9. Copyright complaints (DMCA and Mexican law)

United States (17 U.S.C. § 512). Send notices to our designated agent: José Carlos Chaparro Morales, Chihuahua, Chih., Mexico, [email protected]. A notice must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  3. Identification of the infringing material and its exact URL.
  4. Your contact information (address, phone, email).
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

We will remove or disable the material promptly and notify the uploader. The uploader may send a counter-notice containing: their signature; identification of the removed material and its former location; a statement under penalty of perjury that it was removed by mistake or misidentification; their name, address and phone; and consent to the jurisdiction of the US federal district court for their address (or, if outside the US, any district where we may be found), and to accept service from the complainant. We will restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the complainant notifies us that it has filed a court action. Knowingly false notices or counter-notices may lead to liability for damages (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).

Mexico. We also follow the notice-and-takedown procedure of Article 114 Octies of the Ley Federal del Derecho de Autor (see the Spanish Terms; restoration after 15 business days if no proceeding is filed).

Repeat infringers: we terminate accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

10. Acceptable use

You may not use mieven.to for illegal, sexual, violent, hateful or discriminatory content, or content harmful to minors; to impersonate others or create fake events (fraud, phishing); to send unsolicited messages or upload phone numbers of people not expecting your invitation; or to attack, scrape or resell the service without a partner agreement. We may refuse, unpublish or remove content that violates these rules and, for serious breaches, terminate the service (with a refund only of any unprovided portion where required by law).

11. Availability and liability

We make reasonable efforts to keep invitations available 24/7, especially around the event date, and avoid maintenance in the 72 hours before your event. The service depends on third parties (internet providers, Cloudflare, WhatsApp, browsers); failures on their side, your device or network, or force majeure are not our fault, though we will help you work around them. We are not responsible for errors in information you entered and approved, or for content uploaded by you or your guests.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. This does not limit any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including Mexican consumer law (LFPC art. 90) or the consumer law of your state.

12. Partner and referral program (B2B)

For venues, planners and referrers ("Partners") acting as businesses, not consumers:

  1. Referral code: customers who use your code get the stated discount; you earn the agreed commission set in your partner agreement (a percentage of the amount actually paid, excluding taxes).
  2. Payouts: monthly by bank transfer, for fully paid orders whose cancellation window has ended. Commissions on refunded orders are reversed. You are responsible for your own taxes; we may request tax documents or withhold as required by law.
  3. Independent parties: no employment, partnership or agency relationship.
  4. Responsible promotion: no misleading claims; no unsolicited messages; comply with CAN-SPAM, TCPA and Mexican anti-spam rules (REPEP); use our brand only per our guidelines.
  5. Data: you receive no guest data. If a host authorizes you to coordinate their event, you may use that data only for that event, keep it confidential and delete it afterward.
  6. Termination: either party on 15 days' written notice; earned commissions are paid. We may terminate immediately for fraud (e.g., self-referrals).

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms for future orders. Changes do not affect orders already paid, which remain governed by the Terms you accepted. We will post the new version with its date and email hosts with active invitations.

14. Disputes, governing law and venue

  • Contact us first at [email protected]; we reply within 5 business days.
  • These Terms are governed by the federal laws of Mexico. Courts in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer residing outside Mexico you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your place of residence and may bring claims in the courts or small-claims courts available to you there.
  • Customers in Mexico may also file complaints with PROFECO (profeco.gob.mx, 800 468 8722).
